Kosciusko June the 9th 1861
Dear
Mother and brothers i set down once more
to
inform you that we are all well at present
hoping
these few lines may find you well also
I
received a letter from you yesterday and was
glad
to hear that you were all well and also
glad
to hear that David had not gone
to
the war for it appears they have hard
times
there as disease and starvation is among them
John
and family was up last week & they are
all
well and hearty i have not seen any
of
dans folks for some time as they have
moved
up close to Warsaw and i have not seen
all
the fore part of the spring and made late planting
and
then the cut worms was verry bad took some
fields
entirely so they had to furrow it out and plant
it
again== the wheat looks well generally
with
the exceptions of some low fields which
is
half cheat Now Samuel i will see about a
school
for you if you will be sure and not disappoint
and
throw us out of a school that is the only difficulty.
you
must let me know as early as possible whether
you
will be out or not the health of the
cournty
is first rate at the present==it is getting
late
i will have to close= now Samuel i want you to
write
as soon as you get this and let me know all
the
particulars and how unkle John and family all is

all the brothers and Rebecca sends her
best
respects to Mother and all inquiring friends
so
no more at present but remain yurs until
death
